Gearbox creator Randy Pitchford hints that updates regarding the upcoming title in the Borderlands franchise will be revealed quite soon. Gearbox, now a part of Take-Two following its acquisition from Embracer Group last year, has not officially announced a new entry in the Borderlands saga, but Pitchford suggests that the studio's efforts on a new project have been less than secretive.

"Wow, I probably haven't been as discreet as I should have been about the fact that we're deep into creating something," Pitchford mentioned to TheGamer. "And I feel that enthusiasts of Borderlands will be thrilled by what we have in the pipeline. Although my terminology might be vague, expect us to share details about our latest endeavors sooner than you might think. I’m really looking forward to it.

"I believe it's ingrained in my DNA to pursue the creation of joy and delight, to craft experiences that entertain. I'm passionate about films and video games—really, entertainment in all its forms," he continued.

"I'm so thankful for the anticipation surrounding upcoming Borderlands offerings, and I'm eager to share what our team is developing with our community."

The Borderlands cinematic adaptation is generating considerable buzz, as Randy Pitchford has enthusiastically declared it to be the inception of a "Borderlands Cinematic Universe." The film boasts an ensemble cast led by the illustrious Cate Blanchett, who takes on the role of the infamous outlaw Lillith.

Lillith embarks on a perilous journey back to the rugged, dystopian world of Pandora, driven by her mission to locate a missing girl. On her quest, she allies with an eclectic team: Roland, an ex-soldier with formidable combat skills portrayed by Kevin Hart; Tiny Tina, a prodigious demolitions expert played by the talented Ariana Greenblatt; Krieg, Tiny Tina's ever-loyal and formidable guardian brought to life by Florian Munteanu; Tannis, Pandora's enigmatic and resourceful archaeologist well-represented by Jamie Lee Curtis; and the ever-comical yet steadfast mechanical companion Claptrap, voiced by the multi-faceted Jack Black.

Together, this motley crew delves into the dangerous and uncharted territories of Pandora, striving to unravel a mysterious and potent power that promises to upend their world as they know it.
